Asphalt pavement material is an engineered product composed of about 95% stone, sand, and gravel by weight, and about 5% asphalt binder, a petroleum product. Asphalt cement is the “glue” that holds the pavement together and makes it stick to the road base.
Asphalt paving is smooth, durable, safe, quiet and very versatile. Asphalt paving can be designed to handle any load, from passenger cars to heavy trucks.
Asphalt can be used for parking lots, walks, park paths, or just about any area that would benefit from paving such as the country path pictured below created by North American Paving.
